Overview
APT celebrated 10 years in business at a joyful double party where the 2023 Innovation in Design awards were announced.
On Thursday, September 7th, APT celebrated its 10th birthday party with a colourful event at Indigo Studios Ponsonby surrounded by two hundred of its closest friends and loyal customers. During the event, the 2023 APT ‘Innovation in Design’ Awards were announced, and prizes were awarded to all finalists.
Our intention was always to develop an awards programme that rewarded specifiers for pushing boundaries to deliver truly innovative projects. After a false start in early 2020 – thanks Covid! – we’re super proud to have launched the inaugural APT ‘Innovation in Design’ Awards in 2023 and are humbled by the great support from our specifier community.
The APT Innovation in Design Awards focus on acknowledging not just great design execution – but innovation and boldness in the overall design of a project.
Judges
The 2023 judging panel is a prestigious line-up of international and local experts. Each judge brings to the table in-depth industry knowledge and a very diverse range of skills and expertise.

Cheers to 10 years of doing business together! A heartfelt thank you again to the specifiers who entered our APT ‘Innovation in Design’ Awards and to those of you who have supported us over the past 10 years. It’s not always easy being an independent business – especially with challenges such as global epidemics – and we value those who have been with us on this journey.
We will continue to bring you gorgeous (and silica-free) surface brands that you can trust, provide strong technical support so you can continue to push the limits with your designs, hold high levels of stock locally, enabling you to specify with confidence, and deliver our Tiaki programme (which saw over 10,000 native trees planted and protected as at August 2023).
It is satisfying to now add ‘recognise and reward those specifiers who are innovating in design’ to that list.
Cheers. Nicky, Bart and the APT team.
